One of the reasons I love doing photography is that in a small way I get to be a part of peoples lives. I get to witness the moments that make up who they are and who they are becoming. It is such a privilege to me and I love it. 

Through photography I have met so many special people and witnessed the journey they are on. As I look through my photos of them I know there will always be a part of me that has forever bonded with them. They have, without knowing, become a part of my own journey. 

During this shoot I was given the opportunity to witness the journey of a family. I know this couple longed to be parents. The road that led to this day wasn't easy and there were struggles along the way. But looking to God for the answers they continued on and God gave them a son. They allowed me to photograph him when he came and now one year later they are here with him again and we are capturing the smiles that mark his first year. 

What an awesome privilege! How can I not be sentimental and how can my heart not be touched? For in this shoot and that of so many others I am not only witnessing their lives and their journeys but through my photos I am displaying to the world that God answers prayer.
